Why 3D modelers will like Skelvo

  • Direct and precise

Snap to points, edges and axes, type exact values while you draw, and keep working in real units.

  • Curves and freeform

Arcs, Bezier curves and splines, path sweep, loft, skins over 3 or 4 edges and subdivision.

  • Solid when you need it

Union, subtract, intersect, trim and split, with a check that makes a shape watertight.

  • Scriptable

Model with JavaScript in the developer console: a code editor with examples and one undo step per run.

Features for 3D modelers

  • Draw and extrude

Lines, rectangles, circles, arcs and polygons; pull any face into a solid with Extrude. Snap to points, edges and axes and type exact sizes while you draw.

  • Arcs, curves and splines

Arcs, Bezier curves, splines through points and B-splines, all editable afterwards.

  • Path Sweep and Offset

Sweep a profile along a path for moldings, handles and edges, and offset outlines inward or outward.

  • Skin and loft

Shapes between profiles, vases and dishes, skins over 3 or 4 edges, and subdivision.

  • Solids and booleans

Union, subtract, intersect, trim and split, plus a check that makes a shape watertight.

  • Components with parameters

Groups and components with shared copies, driven by formulas: smart scaling, repeat, choice lists and click actions.

  • Developer console and scripting

Model with JavaScript: a code editor with examples, variables that persist between runs and one undo step per run.

  • Photorealistic rendering

Path-traced renders with sun, sky and studio light in a separate render window; save as PNG or JPG.

  • Import and export

Import glTF, OBJ, COLLADA, STL, 3MF, PLY, IFC and STEP/IGES; export STL, 3MF, OBJ, glTF, DXF, IFC and STEP.

Frequently asked questions

Which formats can I exchange?

Skelvo imports glTF, OBJ, COLLADA, STL, 3MF, PLY, DXF, DWG, IFC and STEP/IGES, and exports STL, 3MF, OBJ, glTF, DXF, IFC and STEP.

What can I do with the developer console?

You can create and change geometry with a small JavaScript API, keep variables between runs and undo a whole script run in one step.

When will Skelvo be available?

Skelvo is being prepared for launch. There is no fixed date yet; waitlist members hear it first and get an early-bird discount.

Is Skelvo a subscription?

No. You pay once. The price includes 12 months of updates, and you can keep using your version forever. If you want newer versions after that, you can buy an extra update year.

Can I try it first?

Yes. There will be a 14-day free trial with all features, without payment details.

Does Skelvo run on Mac or Linux?

Skelvo is a Windows app for Windows 10 and 11. If you use another system, tell us in the short survey after you sign up: it helps us decide what comes next.

Do I need to be online?

Only now and then. A license is activated online, and Skelvo then works offline for up to 14 days. After that it opens in read-only mode until it can connect again.

On how many computers can I use it?

One license is for one person, on up to 2 of that person's computers, for example a desktop in the workshop and a laptop.

How much will Skelvo cost?

Prices will be announced at launch. Until then we would rather hear what you find fair: the short questionnaire that completes your sign-up asks exactly that. Waitlist members get an early-bird discount.

Will there be different licenses?

Yes: one for personal, non-commercial use and one for paid work. Both have all features, 12 months of updates and can be used on up to 2 computers.
