Skelvo for 3D printing

Design it to the millimeter. Send it to the printer.

Draw functional parts with exact sizes, combine them with solid operations and check that they are watertight. When it's ready, export STL or 3MF or send it straight to your slicer.

Why makers who print will like Skelvo

  • Print-ready, not print-hopefully

Check Solid finds gaps, inner and flipped faces and tiny edges, and fixes what it can, before they turn into a failed print.

  • Exact from the first line

Type the size while you draw. Models are in millimeters from the start, so a 3.2 mm hole is a 3.2 mm hole.

  • One click to your slicer

Choose your slicer once in the preferences; after that, Send to 3D Printer exports the model and opens it there.

  • Change one number, get a new part

Components with parameters and formulas let you resize a bracket or a box without redrawing it.

Features for 3D printing

  • Draw and extrude

Lines, rectangles, circles, arcs and polygons; pull any face into a solid with Extrude. Snap to points, edges and axes and type exact sizes while you draw.

  • Solids and booleans

Union, subtract, intersect, trim and split, plus a check that makes a shape watertight.

  • STL, 3MF and send to slicer

Export STL or 3MF, or send the model straight to the slicer you chose. Check Solid first finds gaps, flipped faces and tiny edges, and fixes what it can.

  • Components with parameters

Groups and components with shared copies, driven by formulas: smart scaling, repeat, choice lists and click actions.

  • Skin and loft

Shapes between profiles, vases and dishes, skins over 3 or 4 edges, and subdivision.

  • Path Sweep and Offset

Sweep a profile along a path for moldings, handles and edges, and offset outlines inward or outward.

  • Import and export

Import glTF, OBJ, COLLADA, STL, 3MF, PLY, IFC and STEP/IGES; export STL, 3MF, OBJ, glTF, DXF, IFC and STEP.

  • Developer console and scripting

Model with JavaScript: a code editor with examples, variables that persist between runs and one undo step per run.

  • Your files stay yours

No telemetry and no cloud storage: your models stay on your own computer.

Frequently asked questions

Which slicers work with Send to 3D Printer?

You choose the slicer program on your computer in the preferences. Skelvo exports the model and opens it in that program. You can also simply export STL or 3MF and open the file yourself.

Can I open STL or 3MF files I already have?

Yes. Skelvo imports STL, 3MF, OBJ, PLY and several other formats, so you can modify an existing part or combine it with your own design.

When will Skelvo be available?

Skelvo is being prepared for launch. There is no fixed date yet; waitlist members hear it first and get an early-bird discount.

Is Skelvo a subscription?

No. You pay once. The price includes 12 months of updates, and you can keep using your version forever. If you want newer versions after that, you can buy an extra update year.

Can I try it first?

Yes. There will be a 14-day free trial with all features, without payment details.

Does Skelvo run on Mac or Linux?

Skelvo is a Windows app for Windows 10 and 11. If you use another system, tell us in the short survey after you sign up: it helps us decide what comes next.

Do I need to be online?

Only now and then. A license is activated online, and Skelvo then works offline for up to 14 days. After that it opens in read-only mode until it can connect again.

On how many computers can I use it?

One license is for one person, on up to 2 of that person's computers, for example a desktop in the workshop and a laptop.

How much will Skelvo cost?

Prices will be announced at launch. Until then we would rather hear what you find fair: the short questionnaire that completes your sign-up asks exactly that. Waitlist members get an early-bird discount.

Will there be different licenses?

Yes: one for personal, non-commercial use and one for paid work. Both have all features, 12 months of updates and can be used on up to 2 computers.
