Why architects will like Skelvo
Start from the plans you have
Skelvo has its own DWG reader and imports DXF and IFC, with units, so the drawing lands at the right scale.
Think in sections
Place section planes anywhere, show the cut and the fill, and export a section drawing.
See the light
Set the date and time of day for real shadows, or analyze hours of direct sun per face as a color map.
Present without extra software
Saved views, a view strip, photorealistic renders and printing or PDF are built in.
Features for architects
DWG and DXF import
Skelvo's own DWG reader (DWG 2000 and 2004 to 2018) and DXF import, with units, layers and blocks as components.
Draw and extrude
Lines, rectangles, circles, arcs and polygons; pull any face into a solid with Extrude. Snap to points, edges and axes and type exact sizes while you draw.
Section planes
Cut through the model anywhere, show cuts and section fills, and export a section drawing.
Sun and shadows
Real shadows for a chosen date and time of day, and an optional sun analysis per face as a color map and CSV, fully offline.
Saved views
Save camera views, flip through them in the view strip, play them as an animation or render them all at once.
Photorealistic rendering
Path-traced renders with sun, sky and studio light in a separate render window; save as PNG or JPG.
Point clouds
View scans in LAS, LAZ, E57, PLY, XYZ and PTS, snap to points, cut them with section planes and fit faces to them.
Terrain
Terrain from contour lines, grids and free-form surfaces, with sculpt and project-onto-terrain tools.
Print and PDF
Print views, cutting plans and quotations, or save them directly as PDF, and export images.

Frequently asked questions
Which DWG versions can Skelvo open?
Skelvo reads DWG files from the 2000 version and from 2004 to 2018 with its own reader, and also imports DXF. For export, Skelvo writes DXF, IFC, STEP and several 3D formats.
Can I use scans of an existing building?
Yes. Point clouds in LAS, LAZ, E57, PLY, XYZ and PTS can be viewed, snapped to and cut with section planes, so you can model on top of a scan.
When will Skelvo be available?
Skelvo is being prepared for launch. There is no fixed date yet; waitlist members hear it first and get an early-bird discount.
Is Skelvo a subscription?
No. You pay once. The price includes 12 months of updates, and you can keep using your version forever. If you want newer versions after that, you can buy an extra update year.
Can I try it first?
Yes. There will be a 14-day free trial with all features, without payment details.
Does Skelvo run on Mac or Linux?
Skelvo is a Windows app for Windows 10 and 11. If you use another system, tell us in the short survey after you sign up: it helps us decide what comes next.
Do I need to be online?
Only now and then. A license is activated online, and Skelvo then works offline for up to 14 days. After that it opens in read-only mode until it can connect again.
On how many computers can I use it?
One license is for one person, on up to 2 of that person's computers, for example a desktop in the workshop and a laptop.
How much will Skelvo cost?
Prices will be announced at launch. Until then we would rather hear what you find fair: the short questionnaire that completes your sign-up asks exactly that. Waitlist members get an early-bird discount.
Will there be different licenses?
Yes: one for personal, non-commercial use and one for paid work. Both have all features, 12 months of updates and can be used on up to 2 computers.
